MJ VS LBJ (THE DEBATE CONTINUES)

BACK TO THIS CLASSIC DEBATE BETWEEN TWO GREAT PLAYERS FROM DIFFERENT ERAS. FOR ME IT IS NOT SO MUCH OF A DEBATE BECAUSE LEBRON JAMES HAS NOT RETIRED FROM THE NBA. WHO KNOWS HE COULD END UP WITH 6 CHIPS LIKE HIS HERO MJ.

BUT FOR ME IT IS NO COMPARISON AT ALL. THAT CONVERSATION ENDED YEARS AGO.

FIRST OFF MJ AND LBJ ARE TWO COMPLETELY PLAYERS. THEIR MENTALITY IS NOT THE SAME. HOW THEY PLAY ON THE COURT IS NOT COMPARABLE.

BECAUSE IN TERMS OF SIZE , WEIGHT , & ATHLETIC / BASKETBALL ABILITY MJ & LBJ ARE NOTHING ALIKE.

MJ’s PLAYING WEIGHT AT MOST NO MORE THAN 220.

IN HIS 40s PLAYING FOR THE WASHINGTON WIZARDS DAYS HE PROBABLY WEIGHED AROUND 235.

LETS ENJOY LBJ FOR WHO HE IS…

LEBRON JAMES AT 18 CAME INTO THE LEAGUE LISTED AT 240!

HE IS A 6’9 265 FREIGHT TRAIN THATS GETTING MORE UNSTOPPABLE IN THIS LEAGUE.

NOW IF ANYONE GETS A CHAMPIONSHIP WHILE HE PLAYS WITH ANTHONY DAVIS THAT WILL SPEAK VOLUMES!!!!!!

UPDATE COMPARISON:

NBA FINALS LEVEL OF OPPONENTS:

REAL TALK:

THE REAL QUESTION FOR THE LEAGUE IS WHO IS STOPPING LBJ FROM GETTING HIS 5TH RING?

I BELIEVE ANTHONY DAVIS WILL BE EVEN BETTER NEXT YEAR!

LBJ WILL NOW BE ENTERING HIS 18TH SEASON AND HE SHOULD BE THE OVERWHELMING FAVORITES TO REPEAT!

  • Ya Lebron beat Steph , Klay & dray. Kd wasn’t on that team. To be honest that team wasn’t even all of that. They overrated tbh. They just cooked teams in the regular season and struggled in the playoffs. I’m glad lbj beat them lol so they went and got kd lol.

  • Before I responded to you I had to check out some tape of MJ during that 72-10 season! The eye test tells me he is the best. So many elite moves! Deadly off both shoulders , deadly off both pivot feet. He really had the complete package.
Lbj is cool for this generation but he has kd creeping behind him. It’s scary how much their careers are similar.

  • Your post really got me thinking on it.

And yes, I remember when MJ returned from that “hiatus”, he was more focused than ever. The 72-10 season . . I was amazed they lost 10 games! That’s how dominant they were. Still the best team I’ve ever seen.

As for LBJ, you and me know the game and love the game enough to be appreciating what we’re seeing. Because when he’s no longer playing, the void will never be filled.

  • Wow thank you for your response! I love it! I have to agree with a lot of what your saying because lbj longevity is one of kind. His durability is one of kind. But his peak of greatness was no where close to MJ at his peak.
Ahh the 8 peat. I mean most definitely the bulls would of won 8 straight. Honestly they we would of won from 90-99. Easily. I like to think that the commissioner was growing real “tired” of MJ gambling.
Kind of force his hand into retirement. Similar formula on how they dethroned Ali In his prime. Take away the game they love and force them to do other things besides perfecting their craft.

You can say now is lbj last prime run because he has AD so he has to be the favorites. Let’s see what he can do in the next few years to separate himself.

  • Imma take MJ because . . .

Seeing him do his thing live, I can’t rightly imagine what watching Willie Mays or Bill Russell or Roberto Clemente was like, but he was that kind of mystical to me. Those Bulls teams simply did not lose once the train got chugging, and we are left with the biggest “What If?” question of all, in wondering what might have been if Michael hadn’t stepped away for a year and change to play baseball. Would they have won eight in a row? Would the Rockets have dethroned them?

As for LBJ, he’s a league of his own. Simple as that. Because for all that mystic MJ possessed, Lebron is simply timeless. He has spanned three decades now, and is STILL going strong. No player, in the history of the league, ever possessed that kind of staying power. And seeing him play while with the Heat, I thought, this guy could have played football. And dominated!
