Doesn’t it seem like every year the Orlando Magic are always hovering around the seventh or eighth spot in the Eastern Conference?
Fun fact: In the last few seasons while making the playoffs the Orlando Magic have never truly been a healthy and their basketball identity is confusing. But somehow they always make the playoffs. Isn’t that puzzling?
For the past few seasons they have always seem to rank in the top-ten in defense /defense of net ratings. But one of the very worst offenses.
So here is what I suggest…..
To shake things up….
Because when I watched the magic play over the last few seasons I would see a lot over dribbling and bad floor spacing which always made me cringe.
I hopped on the trade machine and went to work..
After playing around with the trade machine I believe I came up with a good trade for both teams.
In this trade scenario the San Antonio Spurs got younger players to pair with their own young talent. They had made the playoffs two years prior. Adding these two pieces allows for the spurs to be more competitive now. It gives them more flexibility.
As for the Orlando Magic they acquired two older veteran with one year left on their contract. Which is perfect because you get to see how they mesh with their other players on the roster. After a year the Magic can free up some cap space.
After a year, now you can acquire more talent or you can flip those players for more assets. But if the Magic decide to keep these 2 players they will know that they are important pieces for their team.
I believe their veterans presence will bring and build offensive stability for this young Magic team.
