  • Back in the 70s in LA, it was like having two NBA teams in the same city. The Bruins and Lakers were both excellent teams. I really loved watching both of them play. Being a Celtics fan, I have to put the dynasties of the Lakers and Celtics on even par. Think about the Celtics from 56 -68, a thirteen year span. During that time, the Celtics was 11 NBA titles, with 8 of them in a row. Will that achievement ever be surpassed? Only time will tell if a greater franchise presents itself. Thanks for all of your articles.

  • Two power houses out west back in day. I’m glad you are able to remember and share. I don’t think anyone team will be able to achieve what the Boston Celtics did during their dynasty! Fewer teams but nonetheless impressive because teams knew all your secrets.
I have a question for you, which nba player from the 70s do you think would be great in this era and why?

  • Bill Russell was about 5 inches shorter than Wilt Chamberlain, but always was able to handle “the stilt.” Russell was a very intelligent player, who didn’t score a lot, but made it possible for his teammates to score. I think that Russell could have adapted to the current stage, and be as effective as he was during his time with the Celtics.
