What happens if a player tests positive for COVID-19?

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Any player who tests positive will be required to self-quarantine for a minimum of 7 days.

NBA PROTOCOL FOR POSITIVE RESULTS:

  • Enter immediate isolation/separate location — “Isolation Housing”
  • Retest to confirm positive
  • Exit isolation after consecutive negative tests and return to activities

Which that player will then be replace while they are recovering in isolation.

The NBA also has created a set “transaction window” from June 23 until June 30.

For which teams can sign free agents.
